the conjugation method of gene transfer in bacteria is the fun factor here.
the male bacteria replicates its extrachromosomal ie the plasmid.the fertility factor F FACTOR in it forms the conjugation tube and finally a copy of the plasmid is given to the female bacteria via the conjugation tube
the fertility factor is responsible for the gene transfer from male to female
WHAT IS FUNNY HERE IS ,WHEN THE PLASMID ALONG WITH THE F +FACTOR IS
TRANSFERRED FROM THE MALE TO FEMALE,THE LATTER IS CONVERTED INTO THE
FORMER. YUP
FEMALE BACTERIA BECOMES MALE.FUNNY BACTERIA .
